Common Workflows

Fleet Decarbonization Planning

User: "What's our fleet's emissions profile and electrification opportunity?"

Claude: Here's your fleet analysis:

Current Fleet Composition (25 vehicles):
• Diesel: 18 vehicles (72%) - 198.45 tCO2e
• Electric: 5 vehicles (20%) - 0 tCO2e (direct)
• Gasoline: 2 vehicles (8%) - 36.11 tCO2e

Total Fleet Emissions: 234.56 tCO2e

Electrification Opportunity:
If you replaced all 18 diesel vehicles with electric:
• Potential reduction: ~198 tCO2e (84% of fleet emissions)
• Break-even typically within 3-4 years

Recommended priority:
1. Replace high-mileage vans (best ROI)
2. Phase out older diesel trucks
3. Consider hybrid for long-haul routes

Identifying High Emitters

User: "Which vehicles are our biggest emitters?"

Claude: Top 5 Highest-Emitting Vehicles (2024):

1. 1234 ABC (Mercedes Actros) - 45.67 tCO2e
   85,000 km | 20.0 L/100km | Heavy goods transport

2. 2345 BCD (Scania R450) - 42.12 tCO2e
   78,000 km | 19.5 L/100km | Long-haul routes

3. 3456 CDE (MAN TGX) - 38.90 tCO2e
   72,000 km | 19.8 L/100km | Regional delivery

4. 4567 DEF (Iveco Daily) - 28.45 tCO2e
   45,000 km | 12.3 L/100km | Urban delivery

5. 5678 EFG (Ford Transit) - 24.30 tCO2e
   52,000 km | 9.8 L/100km | Last-mile delivery

These 5 vehicles account for 76% of your fleet emissions.

Fleet Efficiency Comparison

User: "How does our fleet efficiency compare to our goals?"

Claude: Fleet Efficiency Analysis:

By Vehicle Type (L/100km):
                    Actual Target Status
Trucks (heavy): 20.0 22.0 ✓ Better than target
Trucks (rigid): 14.5 15.0 ✓ On target
Vans: 9.8 9.0 ✗ Above target
Cars: 6.2 6.0 ✗ Slightly above

Overall fleet: 85% meeting efficiency targets

Improvement Actions:
1. Van driver training (eco-driving)
2. Route optimization for urban delivery
3. Consider downsizing company cars

Tips for Fleet Analysis

Track Distance

Ensure odometer readings are captured for accurate efficiency calculations.

Fuel vs Electric

Electric vehicles have zero Scope 1 emissions, but Scope 2 from charging should be considered.

Euro Class Matters

Euro 6 vehicles have lower emissions factors than older Euro classes.

Seasonal Variation

Fuel efficiency varies by season - cold weather typically increases consumption by 10-15%.
